10 Bible Verses on God’s Dependence

10 Bible Verses on God’s Dependence: Depending on God is not a new topic for true Christians. We have to know that God loves us and wants us to depend on him.

When we are facing life challenges, we often try to work them out with our own strength.

God allows certain situations to happen to us so that we can become better Christians.

God wants us to trust him and know that he cares about us.

  1. 2 Corinthians 12:7–10
And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing, I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly, I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
  2. Deuteronomy 8:2-3
And you shall remember that the LORD, your God, led you all the way through these forty years in the wilderness to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart and whether you would keep His commandments or not. So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.
  3. John 15:5
“I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing.
  4. Matthew 6:30-32
Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? ‘ Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things, the Gentiles seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
  5. John 5:19
Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
  6. Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
  7. John 14:10
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
  8. 2 Chronicles 32:8
With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah, king of Judah.
  9. Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
  10. 1 Corinthians 4:6-7
Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. Who makes you different from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
