Albert Mohler hospitalized with diagnosis of lungs disorder

Albert Mohler was hospitalized with a diagnosis of lung disorder and the family seek prayers amid treatment.

The president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has been admitted following a diagnosis of blood clots in both lungs. This was disclosed in a Facebook statement shared by the seminary on Saturday. “Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., President of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, is currently hospitalized with a diagnosis of bilateral pulmonary emboli ( blood clots in both lungs), It wrote.

The seminary also made known his health is improving as he will be resuming work soon. “He is receiving excellent care and is responding well to treatment. He looks forward to returning to a full schedule including the Briefing in the coming days,” It stated. Also added that “he and Mrs. Mohler appreciates your prayers.”

Mohler Jr. is hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. “While Dr. Mohler remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, the attending physicians are pleased with Dr. Mohler’s progress and confident the situation is under control,” said a statement posted on his website Saturday evening.

According to a statement posted later in the night by the Dean of the Seminary, Russell D. Moore,  he stated: “The president is talking and in good spirits.” He added, “Despite his incredible pain and having just lived through the scare of his life, he was actually able to discuss a book I brought to him the other day about, of all things, the life of Wendell Willkie.”

Mohler was admitted to the hospital over abdominal pain on 27th December last year. After starting to recover from a three-hour surgery to remove scar tissue from a 1980s operation, Mohler’s health sustained a setback on January 5. Mohler has been president of the school since 1993.
