Bishop T.D Jakes: The Beginning of Wisdom

Bishop T.D Jakes shares this Sunday sermon titled “The Beginning of Wisdom”. In this message, Bishop Jakes tell us that when your storms become floods, you can’t be afraid to get your feet wet.

The greatness thing to know is what you don’t know. You will never be smart until you can admit what you don’t know. And we  live in society where we like to brag about things we know but know we don’t know it.

When you feel like you know all, there is no room for you to learn or grow because you already filled up with your own need to impress everybody with what you don’t know.

The beginning of wisdom is ignorance, the beginning of full is empty, the beginning of up is down , if you would humble yourself God would exalt, but because you’ve exalted yourself there’s no room for promotion.

We are afraid of saying “i don’t know” not being able to say i don’t know can kill a marriage, can kill a ministry, can kill a company, can kill a person.

Your arrogance is a lethal weapon that ought to be registered, because you cannot say ” i don’t know”

We should be able to tell God that we don’t know, and he will guide us. Tradition does not produce transformation, transformation is personal, be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

You don’t get transformation because you go to church.

Are you spending all your time trying to talk God to bless what you plan or are you humbly coming to him and say Lord give me your plan because i don’t know.

God says to Joshua  i’m going to give you influence, influence flowing out of him, it’s what flows out of you, it’s not just what you say.

Influence doesn’t come by yelling, screaming, arguing, nagging and complaining, You can’t make people respect you. You cannot buy respect. Influence is the point of affecting other people’s behavior, decisions.

Changing the title doesn’t change  the impact, if you got influence, you have got it, whether they gave you title or not .

Titles are not influence , don’t confuse degrees and education and intellect with influence.

If God magnifies you would you magnify him? If God gives the power to influence people’s decisions outcome and purpose  would you then magnify God or yourself and brag about how smart you are and how capable you are. God gives influence to those who is humble that will magnify God.

The flood is a sign your miracle is in process. Stand firm in the flood and boldly face your impediment. It’s where God molds you, develops you, and prepares you for influence. When you endure times you’ve never seen, you have to do things you’ve never done. You will get muddy, and you’ll be called to get disruptive, but you must keep moving forward. Like Joshua leading the Israelites to the Jordan, God is empowering you to cross over to the other side.
