Pastor Dollar teaches us in the message the reason why we have to tame our minds in order to live according to the will of God. Spirituality is a mind that’s been shaped, carved, and constructed by the word of God, and we have to know that human effort accomplishes nothing. We must understand what human effort accomplishes and how it affects our lives. We have to learn how to set our minds in order to set our lives in the right direction. You won’t change your life if you don’t change your mind.
The Devil understands that he can disrupt your life by disrupting your thinking and invading your mindset through suggestions and other means. We have to understand what it means to tame the mind so you can receive what the grace of God has made available to you. We have authority in setting our affections on the things of God, not the things of earth. To set your minds first of all indicates you have the authority to do that; you can set your minds and keep them set on what is above.
Always remind yourself to keep your mindset on the higher things and not on the things that are on earth. Don’t set your mind on the lower things. Be very careful not to allow just somebody else’s drama or just crazy stuff in the world to capture your mind. Don’t be captivated by the world’s way of thinking; set your mind on higher things and on God. Allow the Holy Spirit to tame your mind in order to receive the blessings that God has made available to you.
