Creflo Dollar: Understanding The Trials Of Faith (Part 3)

Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Creflo Dollar titled, “Understanding The Trials Of Faith.” Why do Christian people go through trials? How come we can’t just come to know Jesus, pray, and not have trouble in our lives?

For some Christians, they think it’s a strange thing to go through trials, and going through trials does not mean you did something wrong.God is the most purposeful being around, and there’s got to be a purpose for the trials of your faith.

What does it mean when the Bible talks about the trials of faith? The trial of faith is not a testing as to whether or not there is faith (it is not to know if you have faith or not), but the trial of faith is the “purifying of your faith by the removal of all impurities of dependence upon self.”

What is happening in the body of Christ is that we, the Christian people, have gotten to the point where we depend on ourselves (our abilities and education) and are not depending on God anymore, so God will have our faith purified by allowing trials.

When we are under God’s grace, our attitude toward him should be one of complete dependence. We should ask him to show us whether or not we are completely depending on him or have invited other things.

There are going to be some things in all of our lives that we will not have the ability to resolve; there’s going to be stuff that all of us will have to meet, and we have to depend on God and trust in him. It doesn’t go well when you’re trying to be like God without God. We have to choose to be dependent on God, because that’s what God wants us to do—involve him in every way we go and in everything that we do.
