Sometimes the backlash you don’t anticipate comes from people that are closer to you whose lives are going to be the most disrupted by the change that you make. Yeah, if you’re always giving and getting, if you’re in a friendship and you’re always good, then all of a sudden you set a boundary. It’s like, I’m not paying anymore.” Wherever you go, people can take your advocacy for you as attacking them. You are wherever your mind is, so like I taught you, you go to the next level here first. If you can get your head out, then your money will come out, your career will come out, and your relationships will come out. We have to know that there are a lot of things in our lives that weren’t made for us. So it reveals to us, like the development of a person, a development of purpose along the way. How the most courageous thing for David was not the fight itself when he looked Saul in the face and said, I can’t wear what doesn’t fit me. When David was to fight Goliath, King Saul gave him armor to wear, but it was not made for him. We have to know that God has already prepared everything for us, and waiting on God for the things made for us is better. You have to break the mold with the help of the Holy Spirit in your life.
