Eastern Star Church: Beliefs, Service Times, Location, Pastors And Denomination: The Eastern Star Church located in Indianapolis. It started as a Christian community 1920.

The church started as a mission, a group of Christians began gathering in 1920 at the residence of the Rev. Anthony Johnson.

Later, they relocated into a structure at 1200 East 17th Street, where the Rev. Wilson Bell oversaw religious activities. Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church became the name of the mission in 1921.
Pastoral selection was made for Rev. Charles Poole. Later, the organization—which emphasized Christian labor, service, and missions—moved to a modest shop structure at 2201 Columbia Avenue.

Beliefs

The Eastern Star Church believes in:

1. God

Only one God. (Isaiah 43:10, Galatians 4:8-9)

 God is three in one. (Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; John 14:16-17)

God is sovereign. (Zechariah 9:14; 1 Timothy 6:15-16)

 God is holy. (1 Peter 1:15)

 God is the creator of everything that exists. (Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 44:24)

God is immutable. He does not change. (James 1:17; Malachi 3:6; Isaiah 46:9-10)

2. Holy Spirit

 Holy Spirit is God. (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 2:11-12; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

 The indwelling of the Holy Spirit for all Christians. (Romans 8: 14-27)

 Holy Spirit empowers believers for service in the kingdom of God. (Acts 4:31)

3. Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God. (John 1:1, 14, 10:30-33, 20:28; Colossians 2:9; Philippians 2:5-8)

 Jesus is fully God and fully man. (Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:15)

 Jesus is the only way to God the Father. (John 14:6; Matthew 11:27; Luke 10:22)

Jesus died for the sins of each and every person in the world. (1 John 2:2; 2 Corinthians 5:14)

 Jesus’ death was a substitutionary sacrifice. He died and paid the price for our sins, so that we might live. (1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45)

Jesus resurrected from the dead in physical form. (John 2:19-21)

4. Salvation

We believe Salvation is a free gift of God. (Romans 4:5, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 1:8-10)

We believe that Christ instructed the Church to go into the entire world and preach the Gospel to every person, baptizing and teaching those who believe. (Matthew 28: 13-18)

5. Marriage

They believe biblical marriage is a covenant between a man and woman, a sacred vow. It is an institution created by God to be a symbol of Christ and His Church. (Genesis 2: 22-24, Matthew 19:4-6)

6. Tithing

Tithing is our opportunity to show God He is the “owner” of our finances by giving back to Him the first of what He gives us. (James 1:17; Mal 3:10)

7. The Bible

 The Bible is the written and Holy Spirit inspired Word of God that is absolute and infallible and the final authority for the life of the believer and the church.” (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
