The multi-campus church in Riverside, Irvine, Kumulani Hawaii, and online, recently hosted a heartwarming Thanksgiving outreach at its Kumulani Campus, providing food, fellowship, and a sense of hope to over 1,200 individuals and families.

Sharing a video clip of the event on Saturday’s Instagram post, Greg Laurie expressed gratitude to those who contributed immensely to the success of the event,

“I want to thank all those that volunteered from Maui and the Mainland for our Thanksgiving outreach at @harvestkumulani,” Laurie wrote. “Jesus was shared along with a lot of great Thanksgiving food to 1000 people! Ohana” means “Family” in Hawaiian, and that’s what we are. The family of God,” he added.

Thanksgiving is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.  It is a time to reflect on the blessings in our lives and to express gratitude to those who have made our lives better. It is also a time to give back to others and to help those in need.

For many Christian Organizations, the Thanksgiving celebration serves as an opportunity to reach out to the needy in the community.

Speaking about the Outreach on the Instagram video, the senior pastor acknowledged that ” It is a great opportunity to minister to people and tell them about the love of Jesus Christ.”

The church’s outreach which has been “going on years on years on this island.” serves to bring hope comfort and love to many who were impacted by the Haui fire. Laurie added that Thanksgiving is an “opportunity for the  church to do what they do best, Love people, show them the love of Christ in a tangible way.”
