In a heartfelt Christmas message shared on Brian Houston’s Instagram page on Sunday, the couple announced that their customary tradition of reaching out to their beloved friends and family using Christmas cards adorned with family portraits has taken a digital turn, with their warm wishes reaching out through social media and their website.
Looking back, the couple expresses deep gratitude for the support they received during their two-year legal battle, which concluded with a “resounding NOT GUILTY verdict” in August. “We are so grateful to those of you around the world who so genuinely prayed and upheld us,” they write, acknowledging the vital role of prayer in their journey.
Despite the past year’s trials, Brian and Bobbie acknowledge the difficult realities many face in a world rife with “troublesome dynamics.” Recognizing the potential struggles others may be grappling with, they offer a compassionate embrace of empathy and a gentle reminder of God’s unfailing goodness, grace, and mercy. “When things seem impossible,” they write, “the Lord always proves himself able.”
The couple also shared updates about their family, noting that each member is “carving new ground” with courage and faith.
“On a personal note, our family are well. They are all carving new ground and new endeavours, and are walking the journey with inspiring courage, passion, and faith,” the message read,
For the coming year, Brian and Bobbie plan to walk into 2024 “with gratitude, anticipation, faith, and a spirit that desires above all else to honour the Lord Jesus and see His Kingdom established and stronger than ever.”
They emphasize their unwavering convictions, strengthened by the trials they faced, and declare their unwavering belief that “Jesus Christ truly is the hope of humanity, and because He is, the best is always yet to come.”
