Jentezen Franklin: How to recover it all

We bring to you today’s message from Pastor Jentezen Franklin, which is titled, “How to recover it all.” The text for the message is from 1 Samuel 30:1–6.

Pastor Jentezen teaches us what to do when we face a difficult day because bad days cannot be avoided.

Pastor Jentezen said that the first thing is to

  • Weep.  He said that a lot of people think that if you have faith, you will be immune to your feelings. They thought that any sign of tears, sorrow, grief, or pain was somehow a failure of faith. Many of the greatest people in the Bible wept, like Abraham, who stood at the tomb of Sarah, his wife, and Joseph, who wept when he was reunited with his brothers after being away from them. Even Paul has experienced weeping. When Jesus visited his friend Lazarus, he wept. Even though he was God, he wept because he felt the emotion and the sorrow of the moment. Even in Ecclesiastes, there’s a time to weep. If you have a night of weeping, you will have a dawn of faith. There will be another season of joy if you don’t give up in the night of weeping.

There is a kind of weeping that can go beyond normal grief and cause you to enter into unbelief and self-pity, and that kind of weeping gets God angry. If you weep knowing a season of joy will return, when you are facing a bad day or situation, you have to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will not leave you in the valley of weeping.

  • Refuse to be Bitter: Don’t let our human tendency to blame others rule us.Blaming one another, you get bitter when you can’t control your tears and line up with the word of God. No matter the situation, don’t let the root of bitterness take over your life and cause trouble in your life, relationships, and family.
  • Encourage Yourself in God: When you trust and believe in God, he will quickly take care of everything.

This is a message that you will love.
