Jentezen Franklin: The Blessing that Outlives You

We bring to you today’s message from Pastor Jentezen Franklin. This powerful message is one that is titled “The Blessing that Outlives You”. The text for the message is from Genesis 12:11.

Pastor Jentezen teaches us in this message about blessings that outlive you. We must understand that it’s possible for us to experience great blessings in our lives. Did you know that’s possible? Did you know that it’s possible to pass on a blessing that can outlive you? You’re going to wonder. In Genesis 12, God made a promise to Abraham: “God speaking to Abraham, I will make you a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. Your family name will be great. You shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you. I will curse him who curses you. Speaking of the nation of Israel, in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. God blesses you to make you a blessing.” That’s the definition of being great; it’s when it’s not just about you but about you affecting generations to come. In verse 10, “and there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there; the famine was severe in the land, and it came to pass as it came close to entering Egypt that he said to Sarah, his wife, indeed, I know that you’re a woman of beautiful countenance.” Sarah was 70 or something years old when he said that, and the Bible says she was a gorgeous, beautiful woman at the age of 70. so much so that he says this in verse 12: “Therefore it will happen when the Egyptians see you that they will say this is his wife and they will kill me but they will let you live now this is the strangest thing you’ve ever seen next please say that you are my sister this is Abraham saying this to his wife when they come to kidnap you they’re going to kill me if they know I’m your husband so I need you to propagate a lie here for my sake I want you to see is holy and as mighty and as awesome as Abraham was his literal name means father. Hebrews 11, the Hall of Fame, calls Abraham the father of our faith, but I want you to see the other side. The Bible is a brutally truthful book, and it doesn’t just give us the successes of people; it shows us in the weakest, worst moments. He’s having one. Please say that you’re my sister and that I may live because of you. And when Abram came into Egypt, the Egyptians saw the woman as very beautiful. but the very thing he predicted happens. God blessed him and fulfilled his promises to him, which made Abraham a blessing.
