Family Requests Prayers as Gateway Church Senior Pastor Robert Morris Undergoes back Surgery

The Family of  Gateway Church senior pastor Robert Morris has taken to Instagram to request Prayers for pastor morris as he undergoes back surgery.
In a Wednesday Instagram update, Pastor Morris son, James Morris who also is a serving pastor in Gateway Church notified the public about his father’s health condition.
He said that while Pastor Morris “was on vacation last week, he experienced excruciating back pain.” James explained, “He had a herniated disc that was so large that they had to do immediate surgery this morning because it was pressing against his sciatic nerve.”
Morris also announced that the surgery went successful, although his father still experience pains resulting from the surgery. Considering his health condition, Pastor Morris will not preach until his full recovery in August.
“The back surgery was completely successful, and he has no more sciatic nerve pain. He does have some pain from the surgery. The total recovery time will be 6-8 weeks, but he will be able to be back in the pulpit preaching in August as planned.”
Morris’s family further requested prayers while he is convalescing. Their listed prayer points include a quick and painless healing process, being able to sleep well, and complete and total healing.
In April 2018, Morris underwent hernia surgery. 6 days later, he was rushed to the hospital as he was faced with a “life or death” situation.
People thought the medical emergency was related to the surgery he previously had. Conversely, Morris returned to the pulpit two months later to narrate otherwise. He had survived terrible internal bleeding that the doctors declared “There’s no medical reason why you’re still alive today.”
The 61-year-old pastor is the bestselling author of numerous books. His books include The Blessed LifeFrequencyBeyond Blessed, and Take the Day Off. He serves as chancellor of The King’s University.

In May, he bagged an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from East Texas Baptist University as a result of his significant contributions to his theological pursuit.
