John MacArthur is an American Protestant preacher and author best known for his worldwide syndicated Christian teaching radio and television show Grace to You. Since February 9, 1969, he has served as the pastor of Grace Community Church, a non-denominational church in Sun Valley, California. He is currently the emeritus chancellor of The Master’s University and The Master’s Seminary in Santa Clarita.

MacArthur was appointed President of Los Angeles Baptist College, currently The Master’s University, a four-year Christian liberal-arts college, in 1985. He was appointed President of the new Master’s Seminary in 1986.
On June 5, 2011, over 43 years after first taking the pulpit at Grace Community, MacArthur fulfilled one of his own life objectives by preaching through the entire New Testament.
