Biography
Josiah Silva is a native of Los Angeles, California. He was born on the 23rd day of April 1982.
The preacher grew up “poor” alongside his four (4) brothers and he was raised by a single mother.
There is no information on who his father is or where he is.
Education
Pastor Josiah Silva attended the University of Southern California, where he obtained a degree. It was there that he also met his wife Marie Silva.
Family Life
Pastor Silva is married to Marie Silva. The couple has been married for 25 years. Their marriage is blessed with four miracle children, two boys, and two girls after years of waiting on the Lord.
Marie Silva is a gifted preacher, singer, and Worship Leader. She is the leader of the Women’s ministry at Freedomhouse Church. Her genuine love for God and people is infectious.
Career
Silva runs a real estate firm called JSilva Investments. By the age of 24, he the CEO of a full-service real estate office with 12 in-house agents, who collectively generated over $100 million in annual revenue.
Two years later, he answered the call from God to start a church in Southern California, he said.
According to Pastor Silva, his exact words to God were
“God, there are so many churches, just bless one of them. Business is good, and life is good.”
However, God had told him that he plans to pour out something new and fresh upon this generation, something that will make sense and people will connect to it.
Ministry
Pastor Josiah had given his life to Christ on February 16, 1997. During his High School years, Silva knew that he had a calling by God, and he led the school’s Bible Club for two years. Upon seeing an increased number of students attending each meeting, he began to see his potential as a preacher.
“We would have worship, and I would do my best to preach a ‘message’ even though I didn’t know what I was doing,” Silva said
‘After seeing hundreds of salvations month after month, one day, my pastor said to me, ‘Josiah, I think you are called to be a pastor.’
After some time, he went on to attend Bible college. Although, during his time at the Bible College, he decided to transfer to another university to pursue f collegiate football. However, three years into his time as an athlete, he suffered a knee injury that made him realize God’s ultimate purpose for his life.
FreedomHouse Church
With no experience or plan, just a word and passion from God, Josiah and his wife Marie initiated their first service in their living room in August 2008 with nine people in attendance, mostly family members.
Freedom House Orange County (OC) is a nondenominational church that began in 2008. It is located in Fullerton, California. The church started as an ad-hoc Bible study class, with pastor Josiah Silva and his wife, Marie, presiding over seven people in his then-home in Brea. The message the couple got from God was simple, ‘Nothing is impossible for God’
Pastor Josiah once admitted that the biggest challenge he faced during the inception of FreedomHouse, aside from having a set church structure, budget, and staff, was trusting that God would provide.
Today, Freedomhouse Church has flourished into a thriving, spirit-filled, life-changing church where over a thousand people attend weekly.
