Joyce Meyer: A Candid Conversation On Divorce

Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Joyce Meyer titled “A Candid Conversation On Divorce.” We have such a big problem today with divorce, not just outside the church but within the church as well.

God hates divorce; he does not hate the divorcees, but he does hate the act of divorce. We have to do everything we possibly can to make our marriages work and not be so quick to give up. People don’t take vows seriously. God is not going to turn against you, and you will not lose your salvation because you got a divorce, but if you really want to be obedient to God and do things his way, you’re going to make certain that you have biblical grounds to get a divorce.

The problem is that people make emotional decisions like “I don’t love you anymore,” but love is not a feeling; it’s a decision you make about how you’re going to treat somebody.

Some people don’t understand that marriage is for life, so when there is a little problem, divorce is the first place their minds go. Because there is too much of divorce people think there is nothing wrong with thing, it hurts God to see marriage separate, that does not mean that God hates you when you divorce and that you will lose your salvation no that will not happen. And it hurts more when there are children in those marriages because most children feel that they are the reason for the divorce. It is very challenging for children.

Don’t get married with the idea in mind that someone else’s job is to keep you happy; we need to do the opposite.

There are consequences for divorce, and it hurts, and before getting a divorce, we have to think about the consequences. When your partner is unfaithful you can get a divorce but it not a must. Before you get a divorce, you have to ask God first. There is another thing you can separate instead of divorce.
