Joyce Meyer: Authentically, Uniquely You – Part 1

This episode with Joyce Meyer is titled “Authentically, Uniquely You—Part 1” on Enjoying Everyday Life.

In this message, Pastor Joyce teaches us that being your authentic and unique self in a world that is usually trying to mold you into what they want you to be is a challenge that we will face at various points throughout our lives. We are all unique, which is both a good and a bad thing; there is no one exactly like you in this world, which makes you special. We have to get it in our heads that “one-of-a-kind things are usually very valuable and they’re sought after.” We don’t have to try to be someone else but be who God wants us to be.

The reason we try to be like other people is because we don’t accept ourselves fully, and we are afraid that other people won’t either. It’s amazing how our feelings about ourselves are often projected onto how others think and feel about us.God gives each of us unique talents, abilities, and traits, but he doesn’t give anyone everything. That’s a very important point. None of us have everything, but we all have something, and by doing this, he’s requiring it of us. We are not given everything so that we can depend on each other instead of being jealous of each other and trying to copy each other.

God wants us to work together and appreciate the gifts that are in one another rather than be jealous of them and try to copy them. One of the best things that you can do is to accept yourself and believe that God created you in your mother’s womb with his own hand very carefully and that you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Know that you are special and that God has a purpose for you; believe in yourself and trust God always.
