Here is a new message from Pastor Joyce Meyer which is titled “Claiming What Is Rightfully Yours (pt.2). Continuing the message from the first part, we read the scripture in psalm 103; 17 -18.
Meyer explains about covenants. A covenant is an agreement between two parties. Each party having privileges and responsibilities.
God has promised us so many blessings and what he has asked us to do is to love and obey him. God did not say if you obey me, you will love me.
Meyer adds that we are not buying God’s love through our obedience. We are also not buying special favours with our obedience. She tells us that if we are having a problem with obedience, then we should just study how much God loves us and fall deeper in love with him. Instead of trying in flesh to do things right, just spend more time with God.
In the Bible, God had covenants with different people in the Bible. With Each of them, he gave them different rules. Fore example; for Noah it was a rainbow, while Abraham is circumcision.
Circumcision is really just cutting away of flesh and it was a way of showing under the New Covenant that God wanted us to work in the spirit. Today, the circumcision we have is that of the heart, where we walk in the spirit and not the flesh.
Further, Meyer tell us that God saved us by Grace and gave us the holy spirit to help us walk in obedience. We do not have to do it ourselves, we have the holy spirit.
She added that we are not perfect in our performance but we can have a perfect heart towards God. The Holy Spirit will help us through the word, to transform us into the image of God.
Next, she talked about how God has promised to be with us always. It is amazing that God lives in us, so does Jesus and the Holy Spirit. He has promised that he will never forsake us.
God has provided us with so much and we should not allow the devil take it away. Study the word of God and find out everything that belongs to you.
Mercy, Grace and forgiveness is available to us. God has promised to meet all our needs according to our riches in glory.
