Joyce Meyer Devotional December 21 2020 – Victory over Frustrations

Theme For Joyce Meyer Devotional December 21 2020 – Victory over Frustrations

Besides the huge disappointments that occur when we don’t get the job or promotion or house we wanted, little disappointments can create frustration, which in turn may lead to bigger problems that can produce a great deal of damage. For example, suppose someone is supposed to meet you for lunch and fails to show up, and then you make a special trip downtown to buy a discounted item only to find it is sold out. These minor frustrations can add up to cause a lot of grief. That’s why we have to know how to handle them and keep them in perspective. Otherwise, they can get out of hand and be blown totally out of proportion.

We have to be on our guard against the little things, which are like the “little foxes” that destroy the vineyards, because all together they can do just as much damage as the serious disappointments that often accompany or follow them. We need to learn to do what Paul did in Acts 28 when the serpent attached itself to his hand—he simply shook it off! Practice dealing quickly with disappointments as they come, and they will not pile up into a mountain of anger. When we receive God’s grace to do this, we can walk in freedom. Victory is not the absence of problems; it is the presence of God’s power.

Prayer Starter: Father, help me to deal quickly with the frustrations and disappointments I face quickly so they don’t build up in my heart. Thank You for giving me grace to grow in this today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
