Today’s message comes from Pastor Joyce Meyer and is titled, “Do You Want To Be Great?” In this message, Joyce lets us know that what we consider great is different from what God considers great. Some people believe that being great is all about their status in society, their connections, and their resources, but that’s not what God says. Being great comes with a lot of responsibilities and great sacrifice. She tells us to understand that whatever our position is in life, it’s where God wants us to be. Sometimes we can prevent ourselves from being promoted by not obeying God.
Sometimes we might be asking God for something, and if we are true believers, God might give it to someone else in order to test us and see if we are going to be happy for the person or jealous. If God wants us to be in a certain position, he could have put us in that position, and if we have a good attitude, God can also put us somewhere that is better than the place and position that we prayed for.
Pastor Joyce tells us that every promotion comes with a greater responsibility. We must accept responsibility for every position we see ourselves in and be prepared to accept responsibility for every position for which we pray. We should learn to be content with everything, and we should understand that wherever we are, that is where God wants us to be. Most of us are discontent; we feel like we should be in another place, and only God can bring true promotion into our lives. If we try to promote ourselves, we always end up in trouble and making bad decisions. We should be happy for the people who have been given the position for which we pray. We should know that when God wants to move us into another position, nobody on earth or in demonic power can stop him from doing that. We belong to God, and we’re in his hands. If we keep the good attitude that he wants us to keep, God will greatly bless us in our lives.
