Today’s message comes from Pastor Joyce Meyer and is titled, “Don’t Let Conflict Steal Your Peace.” Pastor Joyce lets us know that humility is required in order to live in peace; maybe the most difficult of the Christ-like virtues is to be humble. Pride was what caused Satan to fall.
Humility means “to stay under the mighty hand of God to wait on him instead of trying to get things done yourself.” We can’t change people; we can pray for them, but only God can do an inside job. It is easy to blame everyone else for our problems. We are all responsible for our own behavior, no matter how somebody else acts. We have to stop giving somebody else the responsibility for our joy. We should not have ourselves too much on our minds; we should be busy thinking of what to do for someone else. If we want to be so happy, we should ask God to work in us to get over being selfish. We can’t be selfish and happy at the same time. The devil loves it when he can get us looking at everybody else and what’s wrong with them. We need to pay attention to what God is trying to do in us or tell us. Jesus humbled himself, and we should act like him. We expect other people to make us happy, but God makes us happy when we help other people.
We should give it up and trust God to take care of us. We have to stop arguing, being upset, and fighting with people and trust God to take care of us. When we’re doing what’s right and nothing right is happening to us and we’re trying to believe that God will take care of us and it’s taking a long time, when God moves, we will see favor that will shock us. We can only humble ourselves by casting our care on God and believing that no matter what we face, God cares for us and will take care of us.
