Pastor Joyce teaches us in this message about faith and how we can exercise our faith. God gives us faith to believe His word, and we have to learn to exercise our gift of faith for the good things God has for us. God is willing to do a lot of things in our lives, but he needs us to agree with him. We’re partners with God; God doesn’t just come along and do things; he wants us to pray and ask for things, and if he promises us something, he wants us to believe it. Two can’t work together unless they agree to work together; we have to be in agreement with God. Faith is something that is really important, and although we may think we know what it is, sometimes we just get a little bit lazy about releasing or using our faith.
When God told Abraham that he would make him the father of many nations, he said that he did not have a child and that he was too old to have any children. When God speaks something to us and promises us something that sounds absolutely impossible, we have to have faith. We have to remember that what’s impossible with man is possible with God. God is willing to do a lot of things in our lives, but he needs us to agree with him by having faith.
