Pastor Joyce teaches us in this message about faith. As Christians, we have to learn how to trust and believe in God. Sometimes in our lives we face situations that will make us have doubt, but we have to know that God is bigger than anything we are facing. God wants us to always have faith, so let’s believe something good can happen in our lives today. We need to have faith that the word of God is true and that his promises are for us.
Hebrews 11:1 says now, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for.” God wants us to have faith today and believe that something great can happen to us. We’re partners with God; he always gives us something to do and does something in response. Some of us may be waiting on God to do something, but he may be waiting on you to do something like forgive someone, or maybe there’s an action that God has told you to take. Peter walked on water, but first he had to get out of the boat. If you would only believe, you would see the glory of God. We have to know that to believe in God is to believe his word, and believing his promises is such an amazing thing. In Hebrews 4, “it says that if we believe, we’ll enter the rest of God.” Well, that’s true; you know you can worry about your problems and you won’t be in the rest of God.
