The first thing we are told in this message is that God is not for emergencies. He is our life. The book of Deuteronomy 8:19 tells us that “If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.”
Jeremiah 2:32 tell us that Does a young woman forget her jewelry, a bride her wedding ornaments? Yet my people have forgotten me, days without number.”.
Just like women do not like to forget their jewelry. Even when they do, they will go back to get it. That is the way we should strive to ensure that God is first.
Meyer tells us that some people may be bothered that whenever they read the bible and pray, that God does not speak to them. The most important thing is that you give God his time. Ensure that you talk to God . Tell him “Lord, I am here because i cannot make it through the day, without you”.
Forgetting God leads to disbelief. The disbelief is what metamorphoses into rebellion.
The thing that is going on in the world today is; Someone who does not believe in God, does not also want anyone to believe.
Pastor Meyer added that if you want to keep God first then you will have to learn to break from distractions. You must really crave for the will of God in your life.
God wants to know what we want but he also wants to know that it is not the basis of our joy.
