Here is a message from Joyce Meyer, which is titled, “What Is Heaven Like?” The text of the message is from Revelation 19:6–9.
Pastor Joyce teaches us in this message that we don’t know what heaven is going to look like, but we have to know that when Jesus comes back, we are going to heaven with him. What is heaven going to be like? There’s more that we don’t know than that we do, but it does say there’ll be no hunger or thirst. We’re going to eat in heaven, but we’ll never feel hungry.
He heard and he saw these things, and he saw things that Paul said he saw in the third heaven that he couldn’t even talk about; he couldn’t even explain it; there were no words to explain it. “Let us rejoice and exalt and give him the glory for the marriage of the lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready. Now that’s what we’re supposed to be doing right now.” We are this bride that he’s talking about, and Jesus is the bridegroom. If we have the attitude of knowing that earth is not our home, then this is practice for us to get ready for heaven.
We are here on earth learning how to love people and how to forgive so that we prepare ourselves not to be a selfish bride when we meet the bridegroom. We have to focus on becoming our best selves so that we can meet Jesus. Heaven is the whole city’s gold, not just the streets. The city is made of pure gold, like crystal. 12 gates, each one made of a single pearl, and the walls are all embedded with the finest of gems, with rubies and diamonds and jasper and all these different kinds of gems.
We have to be prepared in every area of our lives so that we will be ready to meet Jesus Christ and not miss out on how amazing heaven is.
