Pastor Jentezen Franklin: Pray Big Prayers

We bring to you today’s message from Pastor Jentezen Franklin, which is titled “Pray Big Prayers.” The text for the message is from Psalm 78:40.

Pastor Jentezen teaches in this message that as Christians we should not pray small prayers. The people of Israel engraved God in the desert; if God is grieved over something, what is it? because they limited the Holy One of Israel and did not remember his power. The day when God redeemed them from the enemy, and that champion is not us; it’s Jesus, and how that he redeemed us from the power of our enemy, our Goliath. The power of praying big prayers is the power of asking with complete confidence that God is a strong and mighty God.

Spark your faith and stir your hope to believe in something beyond what you think is even possible. Take the limits off of God because we all have the problem of limiting God in our prayers. Starts listening to Miracle after Miracle How God rolled back the Red Sea How God fed them with Manna How God clothed them for 40 years; how God caused the air conditioner to work with a cloud by day and a heater to work with fire by night; how God did supernatural thing after supernatural thing The Bible then says that they begin to limit that same God. Notice the strong wording: “grieved.” Why was he grieving? He was grieved and provoked because they limited him. They did not give him the privilege to do everything he wanted to do for them.

In the case of the people of Israel, God wasn’t limited in his ability; they limited him by their unbelief, and we should not limit God’s power in our lives. We should pray big prayers and know that God is powerful and that he can take care of us in every area of our lives.
