Joyce Meyer: What Would Jesus Think?

Here is a message from Joyce Meyer, which is titled, “What Would Jesus Think?” The text for this message is from 1 Corinthians 2:16. “That we have the mind of Christ, say I have the mind of Christ.” The Amplified says we do hold the thoughts, feelings, and intents of his heart, so in my mind of the spirit.

Pastor Joyce Meyer teaches us in her series, “Battlefield of the Mind,” that our thought life is the battlefield where the enemy wants to overwhelm and control us. Whether it’s worry, anger, or fear, the devil will use our thoughts to try and rob us of the full and peaceful life Jesus sacrificed to give us. We have to renew our minds in the word of God, replacing our negative thoughts with confidence, peace, and security.

There are various conditions that our mind can be in, what’s normal, and how we think Jesus would have been thinking. We have the ability to think like Jesus in every situation, but one of the things we must do is slow down and discern things so we can learn to think in the spirit. We can take a minute to check with our hearts; we need to choose the line between our thoughts, our words, and our behavior. We have to die to ourselves, like Paul said he does daily. Paul said, “It’s no longer I that live, but Christ that liveth in me; and the life that I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God.
Spiritual maturity means dying to oneself. See, Jesus died and had a resurrection, but we’re not talking about a physical death and a spiritual resurrection; we’re talking about right here on this earth dying to self and selfishness in the mind of the flesh. We have to die to ourselves so that we can have the life Jesus died to give us.
