Louie Giglio: The Best And Worst News You’ve Ever Heard

Passion City Church shares this sermon by Pastor Louie Giglio titled “The Best and Worst News You’ve Ever Heard.” The text for the message is 1 Corinthians 15:1-2. “Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel, you are saved if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.”

Pastor Louie teaches us that we have to discover our purpose and allow it to rise up in our priorities. We have to learn how to number our days so that we can make sure that our lives count. The little word “no” is really important because the little word “no” is going to open up for us a more powerful “yes.”

He teaches us about the priorities of the gospel because it is really important in our lives to know the value of the gospel. We are being saved because it’s a progressive work of God. The moment we put our faith in Jesus, we are born again, but that’s not the end of salvation. Salvation is a process where God is working out that new birth every single day of our lives. God is saving us all the way to the end and even in the grave.

The gospel is of first importance because Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures. Sometimes we might feel that we don’t deserve to be called the children of God, but by the grace of God, we are his children. We must first understand the gospel’s power before we can understand why it should be a priority in our lives. Serving God and holding on to the gospel should be our primary purpose because Jesus died so that we could have a relationship with him. When we put God first, he will take care of our needs.
