In the scripture we see Jesus giving us caution against contingent faith. The man in the scripture, his faith was contingent on what Jesus can do. He did what we all would in troubled situations and we seek to take control. We have back up plans for everything. However, the more we try to take control, the more we can’t.
This is because control is not ours to take. Relinquish control and allow God to run your world. contingent faith washes away and that is not the kind of faith we should have. Let our faith be anchored on his goodness and sovereignty.
God’s answer for troubled times, his answer remains the same. Do not take hold of your troubles, but place your trouble in his hands.
