Pastor Craig Groeschel : Four Questions Before You Quit Your Job

Today we bring you a very interesting discussion from Pastor Craig Groeschel which is titled “Four Questions Before You Quit Your Job”.

Right now, a lot of people are at a job, company or role where they are frustrated. You can be surprised at how much better your job can be with a change of strategy and approach. You may not like it right now but if you approach it in the right way, you may be able to make some changes that will make you love your current job.

Do not let temporary problems lead you to making a permanent decision that you will regret later. However, for some people, it is time for you to move on.

There are four specific questions you should ask yourself before you quit your job.

The first question is ; What Specifically is Frustrating Me? It is indescribably important for you to get to the root cause of your frustration. Some of the frustrations we feel may be a combination of the following reasons.  You do not feel;

  1. valued
  2. Appreciated
  3. Not getting enough Feedback
  4. You do not feel like you are growing. etc

What you should do is to clearly define what is frustrating you. What is it and why does it matter?

Another question you have to ask yourself before you quit your job is; Is This Problem Solvable? Can you make it better where you are? You may answer in the negative and the reason is that you feel somewhat powerless where you are. However, you have no idea that with some good upward leadership, how many problems are solvable, if you handle them wisely.

The third question is; Are You The Reason You Are Unhappy At Work? We all have our issues that may be affecting our job. It may be that you are not getting enough sleep, you maybe struggling in your confidence or that you have got a low self-esteem. All of these may be a contributing factor to the reason you do not really like work. The problem may not where you work but that there is an internal issue for you to address.

The final question is; Am I Running From Something or Stepping Into Something? Am i running from something or am i Intentionally stepping into something that i believe is going to be better?

As you are considering quitting, we have to make sure that you are not running from something. You are not just running from something but that you are stepping into a place that you believe is going to be better.
