This is a sermon by Pastor Joel Tudman titled “The Courage of Restoration” where he teaches that Galatians 6:1-3 calls us to restore our brothers and sisters who have fallen into sin, but when doing so, we must not forget that “we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). He said it might be tempting to judge someone else for what they’ve done, but when God sends you to restore, your assignment is to assess the situation, not the sin. This message is taken from Galatians 6: 1-3 (KJV).
He said that this particular letter to Galatians, we know Paul is writing to Galatians and this is a roman province. Pastor Joel said Paul has been there several times and as he writes this letter there’s an issue there. There’s been some people that have shown up on the scene that are challenging Paul’s apostolic place. They are saying that he’s not real, they’re they’re talking about his status and they’re also saying that all of the gentiles need to do what the Jews are doing. The Jews had the sign of the covenant which was circumcision and so we know that circumcision is not the covenant but that circumcision is the sign of the covenant and so they took the sign and edified the sign over the actual covenant itself.
