Pastor Michael Phillips: Unexpected Arrivals

Pastor Michael Phillips delivers this sermon titled “Unexpected Arrivals” where he teaches that when Jesus walked on water to meet His disciples in the storm. He walked across the very thing they were worried about.

We have to tell ourselves “It’s still possible”, we need to let that enter our hearts and spirits, because there are things that we have given up on because it did not go the way we thought it would go or it did not end up the way we thought and we have tried many times and it did not work.

And we have been praying and believing in God asking him when is it going to happen? The bible never promised that we would get our preference, the bible never promised us that we would never experience chaos. We have to know even chaos or the crisis does not negate the possibility.

Even though things are not going fine we have to believe that “it’s still possible”,  Chaos often precedes great creativity, faith precedes great leaps into new knowledge, this is the pattern of transformation and that is how we become transformed and show up in a place that nobody ever thought we would make it to.

This is a great opportunity to find ourselves being open to the pattern of transformation, where we have to be disoriented first to become reoriented next. We have to know that our potentials are not lost it’s just not yet revealed or fully realized.

We have some powerful stuff on the inside of us that would not come out until we pass through disorientation and chaotic things, problems and circumstances, so that we can be transformed. The problem is that we keep looking for it to come, but the treasure is already inside of us.

We have to believe that we got everything for us to get to the next level, we have everything it takes to achieve our dreams and to do what God have called us to do just believe that “it’s still possible”

He said that God will use our problems to open our minds to His process and power. You can step out of your old position, and if you fall, Jesus will catch you. You cannot transform into your new self if you won’t let go of your old self. Just as a caterpillar gets hungry and leaves its familiar surroundings when it’s time to transform, our appetites change when God is calling us to our destinies.

This message is taken from the scripture: John 6:16-21 (NIV).
