Pastor Robert Morris’ Surgery Recovery ‘Going Slowly But Well’

The Gateway Church senior pastor Robert Morris who underwent back surgery last month announced that his  “recovery is going slowly but well”

In a Friday Instagram update about his health, Morris made known that he is gradually recovering from the back surgery he underwent the previous month. He also expressed gratitude to those who have been praying for his recovery.

“Thank you all so much for your prayers, Morris wrote. My recovery is going slowly but well! I”ll be starting routine physical therapy next week, which will not only help in my overall healing but also address the bruising of my sciatic nerve. I am grateful for your continued prayers for healing.” “Looking forward to being back @gatewaypeople in August,” he added.

In a June 21 Instagram post, Pastor Robert Morris’s son, James Morris who also is a pastor in Gateway Church announced that his father underwent back surgery after “experiencing excruciating back pain.” He further noted that the surgery was successful but his father will not participate in church activities until his full recovery.

“Here is a quick update about my day, James Morris wrote. “While he was on vacation last week, he experienced excruciating back pain. He had a herniated disc that was so large that they had to do immediate surgery this morning because it was pressing against his sciatic nerve,” he explained.

“The back surgery was completely successful and he has no more sciatic nerve pain. He does have some pain from the surgery. The total recovery time will be 6-8 weeks, but he will be able to be back in the pulpit preaching in August as planned.”

The family  also requested prayers for the pastor’s “quick and painless healing process, to be able to sleep well and complete and total healing.”
