Robert Morris Requests Prayer For Texas Panhandle Amid Fire Outbreak
A call for prayers and support rises across social media as the Texas Panhandle grapples with a catastrophic wildfire that has been declared the largest in the state’s history.
Gateway Church founder and senior pastor Robert Morris specifically took to his Instagram page to solicit urgent prayers for the state where the blaze has left a trail of devastation in its wake.
“Please join us in prayer for God’s peace and comfort for those affected by the fire, for rain to come, and for the courageous first responders who are working tirelessly to contain it,” he wrote.
Despite the shock and sadness felt by locals due to the wildfire’s quick growth, firefighters from all across the state and beyond are fighting the unrelenting flames. Exhausted and working in hazardous conditions, they face the immense challenge of taming a wildfire of this magnitude.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but communities have already begun rallying together. They are offering support and resources to those who have lost their homes and livelihoods, with donations of food, water, clothing, and other essentials pouring in at various locations.
Joining the prayer appeal are some other Christian leaders and groups, such as Hand of Hope. The non-profit organization, which is headed by renowned speaker Joyce Meyer, collaborated with Encounter Church Amarillo earlier this week to provide essential supplies to the affected families. The collaboration also seeks to assist “the brave first responders battling the flames on the front lines.”
