Today we present a new message from Pastor Steven Furtick, which is titled “A Lesson in Recognizing the Enemy”.
Pastor Furtick teaches us in this message about a lesson in recognizing the enemy. As Christians, we have to know how to identify the enemy (Satan). We have to know how to resist him so that he can’t have control over our lives. But in order to resist the enemy, we have to recognize him, or we’ll spend our whole lives resisting all of the wrong things, resisting silence when sometimes that’s where God speaks the loudest, or trying to avoid awkward situations. God’s middle name is “awkward.” He’ll run out of food on purpose to see what you’re going to do in the awkward situation. He’ll sit down next to the disreputable woman at the well and make it awkward, so the disciples have to decide if they really believe that this message is for everyone. What does the Devil look like in real life, not our cartoon image of him, once we get the cape of him and try to understand how he really operates to try to master our minds and set up a seed of influence in our souls through controlling our emotions? The devil wants to control our lives, and he can only do that by controlling our emotions. We can start to battle. Paul said “We are not ignorant of Satan’s devices”.
We have to be careful about our emotions so that we don’t end up giving the devil control over our lives. We can only control our emotions with the help of the Holy Spirit. Is not going to be easy, but we can do it through our determination and the Holy Spirit in our lives.
