Pastor Furtick teaches us in this message about strength and why asking God for strength is really important. When David made the biggest mistake of his life and slept with Bathsheba, the child born died, and he went back and had another child. the name of the child he had after his greatest mistake? His name is Solomon. It must be a setup, because it can’t be Solomon.” There’s no way, right? How could it be Solomon? He’s inexperienced. He was the product of a bad decision David made. God used the weak thing to build the glorious thing. You might be wondering that about your life today. Maybe that’s why God gave you this word today so you could know that people build on your successes and choose according to your wisdom, but with God it works in reverse. Get it into your spirit that it works in reverse. God does not choose the moments when you feel the strongest to show up the most in your life; it is the moments when you are working through your weakness, whatever it may be. Some of you have a temper. Some of you have an addiction to something that is chemical in nature. It could even just be food. It could be an addiction to bitterness. There are all kinds of addictions in this world, and you might be involved with any of them. You can be a control freak, or you can have pride. The good news of the gospel to me is that God chose the weak things.
No matter what we are going through in life or addicted to, we have to know that God can still use us. Even when we feel weak, God is strong; he’s always in control, and he will work everything out for us.
