Steven Furtick: I’m Not Trapped, I’m In Training! – The Basin

Today we present a new message from Pastor Steven Furtick, which is titled “I’m Not Trapped, I’m In Training!”

The pastor teaches us in this message. teaches us in this message that we have to know that we’re not trapped, but we’re in training. Sometimes in life, we feel trapped, and that mindset will make us not get stronger. We go through hard times because God wants us to learn what will help us in the next season of our lives. Most times, we are the ones that put ourselves in a trap. Maybe we want to do something productive, but we have the excuse that we don’t have time. Sometimes we fear rejection, so instead of reaching out to people, we use projection and assume that they are not going to be interested. We have fallen into the trap, and the only way we can do that is to know that each situation is to make us better than we were. Pastor Furtick said that “there have been many times where I’ve put something on a list and then moved it to another list and moved it to another list, and I keep bouncing it from list to list.

We have to stop making up or giving excuses why we’re not going to do certain things. Pastor Furtick said, “Because I fear rejection, I fear rejection projection. Have you ever heard of this where I say to myself, “They wouldn’t want to do that; they’re not the kind of person who would actually do that,” and I will invent their response before I even make the request? We have to overcome some obstacles in our lives in order to be better, and that’s the training. Stop saying that you’re trapped in a situation; instead, think about what you’re meant to learn from the situation.
