Tony Evans Sermons – Idol (Religion)

Tony Evans Sermons Idol (Religion)

The Oak Hills Bible Fellowship, Dallas, Texas shares this new sermon by Pastor Tony Evans titled “Idol (Religion)”.  In this sermon taken from the book 1 Cor 6:14, we see Apostle Paul admonished the Christians in Corinth about Idols in the Church. Paul was concerned that the Christians were having Idols. Pastor Tony tells us that many of the problems we face are from the demons in the idols we worship. It is not possible that we have the spirit of God and this Idol.

The Idol Paul is talking about here is the Idol of Religion. Religious people do religious things to motivate God to give them great things. these things are great but they can become our Idol. If you want to change and God is not working for you, you may be religious. This is because religion cannot accomplish what authentic relationship with God.

You ought to be dissatisfied with religion because the religious routines cannot draw you to God.  These activities are legitimate but they will not get us what we want. It may be a converging ground for demons. There are teachings that are demonically inspired but religiously camouflaged.
