Brian Houston’s Daughter and Husband to Open a New Church

Four months after resigning from Hillsong Church, Brian Houston’s daughter Laura Toganivalu and her husband Peter Toganivalu announced a plan to open a new church.

In an Instagram video shared on Wednesday, the couple also known as Peter and Laura Toggs announced that their next line of action after resigning from their position as global pastors of the youth ministry, Hillsong Young and Free would be planting a new church in Sydney Australia.

“We got together, we said God whatever it looks like, we want to build a church and in so many ways the feeling has not changed. We feel in our heart that we want to plant a new church in Sydney Australia,” Peter said.

The couple who are “carving out a path that God has strategically called” for them also expressed excitement over their new plans. They noted that leaving Hillsong makes them “feel like new birds in the nest and we are about to spread our wings.”

In a Thursday Instagram post, the former Hillsong Global senior pastor Brian Housten Expressed admiration for the couple’s decision to start a new church. He also assured them of his and his wife’s nwavering support.

“We are very proud of @petertoggs and @lauratoggs as they begin on their journey of planting a new church in Sydney, Australia,” Houston wrote. They are outstanding pastors and a wonderfully gifted couple. It has not been an easy journey for them, but they have remained strong in spirit and faith-filled as they look to the future.”

“Bobbie and I will give them every bit of our support but it is their vision and their choice. I couldn’t be more excited for them,” he added.

In the upcoming month, Peter and Laura will host interest parties for those who are considering joining the church.
