Christian Leaders Pay Tribute to Pat Robertson

Christian leaders pay tribute to Pat Robertson, Christian Broadcasting Network founder, and former Southern Baptist Minister, who died early Thursday morning at his home in Virginia Beach.

Pat Robertson died at 93 years old. His demise was first announced Thursday by CBN, the organization he founded in 1960, and later by Spurgent University he founded in 1977.

Following the news of his demise, Christian leaders have taken to social media to pay tribute to the influential leader.

Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship took to Instagram to pay his tribute. “If there is a single word that would sum him up it would be vision,” he wrote. “Pat applied his faith to the great commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. The result was millions of people came to a life-changing relationship with Christ through his television Ministry. It was my honor to spend some time with him over the years and I can tell you that Pat was a truly kind and generous man.”

Sheila Walsh, evangelist, and vocalist who co-hosted Robertson at 700 Club for several years shared a stunning picture of her and Roberston. She wrote “Sad for those of us who loved him but glorious for Pat. He was a brilliant man, passionate about Christ, at times controversial but he was like a father to me.”

The Potters House founder Bishop T.D. Jakes described Robertson in an Instagram post as “a trailblazer who offered the world the best of his service.” “Anyone that knew him knows he was a fearless leader,” he added. Jakes also shared memories of the good times he had with Robertson. He acknowledged further that Roberson was “always gracious, supportive, and kind to” him.

“Dr. Pat Robertson’s earthly journey is now complete. Though I join others in grieving such a deep loss of a personal friend, I can only imagine the reception and rejoicing in heaven among the vast multitudes who received Christ and learned to live a godly life because of Pat’s faithfulness to his calling,” prominent televangelist Pastor Benny Hinn wrote on Instagram

Franklin Graham, son of the historic preacher and influential leader Billy Graham tweeted, “Pat Roberston was a great friend to my father, to me, and to our ministries.” He admitted however that he misses Pat.

Other religious leaders such as Sid Roth, Jesse Duplantis, Kenneth Copland, and Bishop Bronner have shared their tributes too.

In 1960 Pat Robertson was ordained as a minister in the Southern Baptist Convention. His ordination vow however was terminated consequent to his 1988 contest for the United States Presidency.

Robertson became prominent through his talk show on ‘700 Club’, a network for religious and political news commentary. He was the daily host of the organization for 60 years. In October 2021, he announced he was stepping down.
