Pastor Dollar teaches us in this message how to develop spiritual maturity and why it’s so important. When we develop spiritual maturity, that’s when we know our rights in Christ Jesus and what he made available for us. We will understand that we are not under the law but under grace. When we are spiritually mature, that’s when our relationship with God gets stronger and we know more about him. We’re called to love, and we’re called to love not just when it’s easy but even in hard spaces. What are some things we need to do so we can develop this maturity? There are signs of spiritual maturity and of developing and maturing through pressure. There’s a lot of maturity we still need to see in the church; there’s a lot of immaturity in the church.
You have people who are not even born again who act more maturely than some Christians. Sometimes God allows certain things to happen in our lives, and out of those things comes greater maturity and preparation for growth. A place of maturity is a place where I am complete, where I am prepared, and where I am ready. Maturity means “to bring about perfection and growth.”
We have to understand that, as Christians, you’re not growing just because you’ve been saved for a number of years. So as Christians, we should be improving our character, our love, and our relationships where God is concerned.
