Dr. Dharius Daniel: 4 Things I Would Tell My Son About Women

This is Thrive With Dr. Dharius Daniels and a message titled “4 Things I Would Tell My Son About Women,” You Must Be Spiritually Compatible Part 1.

Pastor Dharius teaches us about spiritual compatibility and what he would tell his son about women.

  • Number one: is this someone that you’re spiritually compatible with but don’t have to be spiritual to stay with? Pastor Dharius says, “It is me speaking, obviously taking into consideration my value system, and saying, “Hey, marry someone that you’re spiritually compatible with but that you don’t have to be spiritual to stay with.” He said, “Mean simply marry someone that tolerates your spirituality. very specific here, not just referring to someone who tolerates your views or your faith, not even simply talking about someone who shares your faith, because just because someone claims to be Christian or just because someone is actually a Christian does not mean you’re spiritually compatible. Some people say there’s no such thing as compatibility because whoever you’re with is going to have to make it work. is wrong because the Bible says something different about that, so the Apostle Paul in the book of Corinthians talks about this whole idea. this whole concept of being unequally yoked so he’s using an agricultural analogy  that is seen actually in the Old Testament and agricultural analogy and applying and appropriating it to relationships so like in the Old Testament said do not yoke an ox or donkey together that’s unequal yo it means so if you got this yolk this apparatus that’s got these two areas where two animals go into the apparatus goes around the animals and those goes around the animals and those plowing a field what the wisdom they receive in the Old Testament if you put that apparatus on one side around the neck of an ox on the other side around the neck of a donkey then you’re not going to be prosperous in your plowing why what’s going to happen what’s going to happen well the nature of an ox is more compliant it is more docile more cooperative and more predictable but the nature of a donkey is unpredictable it is uncooperative at times it is not compliant at times so the the admonition not to plow with a donkey and the ox is because when the master says come more than likely the ox is going to come because the ox is compliant but the ox won’t be the ox is compliant but the ox won’t be doesn’t cooperate so the ox’s progress will be hindered because it’s yoked up with a donkey.
