James Fortune, born on November 29, 1978, in Richmond, Texas. Fortune grew up in the church where his dad was a pastor. He started playing drums when he was only five years old. After finishing high school in Sugar Land, Texas, he went to Cal State Northridge. He then became the choir director at Dimension Church in Houston. In October 2014, Fortune was arrested in Fort Bend County, Texas after a heated dispute with his wife, Cheryl Fortune, and was charged with aggravated assault of a family member. Fortune was later released on $20,000 bail.
