Joyce Meyer: 7 Deceptions of the Devil Pt.1

Joyce Meyer 7 Deceptions of the Devil Pt.1: Another message today from Joyce Meyer is titled “7 Deceptions of the Devil, Part 1.” To explain this message, Joyce uses the story of the Garden of Eden, which you can read in Genesis chapter 3.

The message started with Joyce Meyer telling us the meaning of “deception.” Deception means to believe a lie. A person who has been deceived is a person who believes what is not true, and it has become their reality. As Adam and Eve were deceived by a snake, people are being deceived by the devil, who is disguising himself as an angel of light. By believing in the devil, they gave away their authority.

Every lie we believe represents something that the devil is stealing from you that God wants us to have. There is nothing sadder than a Christian without victory, because that is the reason why Jesus died for us.

Meyer pointed out that we have to know our enemy in order to win the battle of the mind. To win, we have to know what God wants us to think and know. That is why the enemy does not want us to know anything. Therefore, Satan knows that if we are to have victory, there is only one place we should go, and that is straight to God. That is what we should do: return to the word of God.

We can’t take authority over the devil if we believe the lies he tells us. Jesus retrieved that authority for us and, in addition, gave us power. Christians need to learn to use their power and authority and not allow the devil to beat them around.

Meyer tells us the first deception of the devil is to doubt the existence of God. We need God’s help in order to resist the devil every time he comes with lies. We can’t take authority over the devil if we believe the lies he tells us.
