Pastor Joyce continues on the message, “Defeating Giants.” It’s really important to know how to defeat and overcome giants in our lives so that we can be who God created us to be. For us to fight and win, we have to know who we belong to and who we are in Christ Jesus. When the Devil tries to control you with fears and worries, tell him that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, set apart and made holy by Jesus’ blood. Knowing that we are the head and not the tail, and that everything we lay our hands on shall prosper,
You have to encourage yourself in God and go after your dreams, no matter how many times you have failed. Pastor Joyce says that many of us have not heard messages about the Devil and how he lies to us and attacks us. Talking about the devil doesn’t sound like the most exciting thing in the world, but people perish for a lack of knowledge. One of the ways that Satan attacks us is through people who actually really love us, but they don’t realize that maybe they’re being used by the enemy and it’s not something they’re doing on purpose. The enemy can be about us; this is what happened between Jesus and Peter. When Jesus was expressing how he would suffer in order to bring salvation, Peter rebuked him because he didn’t want him to suffer, but that was the devil using him.
The Devil knows that if there’s anybody that we want their approval from, it’s the people that we care about, and if somebody disapproves of you and you don’t care what they think, it’s easy to not listen to them. We really need to hear from God, but that doesn’t mean you never listen to people. We have to listen to God more than we listen to people and ask God for knowledge and direction in life.
