Steven Furtick: List Your Victories

Today we present a new message from Pastor Steven Furtick, which is titled “List Your Victories”.

Pastor Furtick teaches us in this message about listing our victories when we feel discouraged. As Christians, we face difficult situations that make us feel discouraged, but we have to remember our past victories in order to feel motivated again. In the Bible, they list the victories that God gave to the Israelites. Nobody does it by themselves; nobody makes any progress or sees any success by themselves. Anyone who says they do it is delusional; we can’t do anything without God. We have to know that God should be involved in all the things that we do; he wants us to invite him. The reason we get discouraged, and sometimes you can be winning in your life and still feel weak on the inside, is because we don’t remember our past victories. God has done a lot of great things for us, things that we can’t take credit for. If we look at where our lives are today, there are some things that aren’t where we want them to be. There are some things that are much farther away than you ever thought they’d be. Sometimes we can’t believe that we’re in some kind of situation because that’s something we’re not expecting.

Some of us can’t believe certain things in our lives, like being a parent, marrying the wrong person, or experiencing depression and devastation, but we don’t have to dwell on them. When we remember all the great things that God has done for us, that will put us in a situation where we have a better relationship with God. For some of us, it is easier to see what we don’t have than what we already have. When we keep dwelling on the wrong things in life, that will lead us to a state of discouragement. We have to learn the act or habit of listing our victories not only when we feel discouraged but in good time too.
