Albert Mohler recovering at home after discharge from the hospital expresses gratitude over people’s concern when hospitalized.

The president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has taken to Twitter to announce his release from the hospital as well as his continued recovery, following a statement released by SBTS last weekend about him being hospitalized with a diagnosis of bilateral pulmonary emboli.

“I am thankful to have been released from the hospital and have been recovering at home,” Mohler said in a Wednesday Twitter Statement. “I have made limited appearances at our Board of Trustees meeting. And the scheduled faculty meeting necessary for May’s commencement ceremonies. I will do my best to work back to my regular schedule while following medical advice,” he added.

Mohler further said his hospitalization is “deeply humbling and results in profound gratitude.”

He expressed gratitude to the Southern Seminary and Boyce College Leadership team, for their “remarkable work,” at the time he was hospitalized. He acknowledged also the Board of Trustees “for many kind expressions of prayer and concern from students, faculty colleagues.” and other brethren.

Albert Mohler Jr. also extended his gratitude to his family who he said are “encouraging and loving.” He noted  his wife  Mary’s “love and devotion is legendary,” adding that he “loves her so much.”

“I want to acknowledge the excellent medical and support staff personnel of Baptist Health Louisville. Their professionalism and devotion were clear and their medical expertise was comforting and demonstrable,” he concluded his gratitude.

Mohler who was hospitalized with blood clots in both lungs is the ninth president of SBTC. He was elected in 1993 and has since then retained the position. He is married to Mary Mohler. Their union is blessed with two children and three grandchildren whom Mohler described in his statement  as “three precious pajama-clad grandchildren.”
