Dr. Charles Stanley’s body to lie in repose at First Baptist Atlanta

Dr. Charles Stanley’s body to lie in repose at First Baptist Church Atlanta, In Touch Ministry announces and invites all.

The body of the Late Dr. Charles Stanley, founder of In Touch Ministry, former senior pastor at First Baptist Church, and former president of Southern Baptist Convention will be made available for public viewing at “First Baptist Atlanta 4400 North Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30338 Atlanta,” Georgia, United States.

In Touch Ministry made this known in a Wednesday Instagram statement. The Statement further disclosed that Stanley’s body will lie in repose coming Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM at First Baptist church.

The Ministry however has beseeched on individuals to partake in the formal and public viewing of the influential deceased pastor’s body which precedes his funeral.

“Please join us in remembering Dr. Charles F. Stanley this weekend. He will lie in repose at First Baptist Atlanta this Saturday from 10 AM – 4 PM” the statement read. “All are welcome,” it added.

Further in the statement, the ministry disclosed that a live stream also will be made available at “charlesstanley.com/live stream”, for those who can’t make it to the church.

“Understandably, that won’t be possible for many so we will also have a live stream available for all who need to honor him online instead.” It wrote.

Dr. Charles Frazier Stanley who was born on September 25, 1932, in Dry Fork, died on Tuesday morning at 90. He died in his home in Atlanta. While alive, Stanley was an influential pastor. He started serving God as a teenager. Dr. Stanley served as a senior pastor at First Baptist Church from 1971 to 2020 when he retired. He was the president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1984 to 1986. Through his television broadcast, he has been able to touch millions of lives across the globe.
