Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Joyce Meyer titled, ” Is Jesus Your Part-Time Lover or Your Lord?” The text for the message is from the book Matthew 7:21.
She teaches us that it’s our actions that count in our relationship with God, not our talking. We can say that we love God, but if we don’t prove that by putting him first in things that are important to us, One thing the devil does not want us to do is put God first. She points out that “God is a jealous God and a consuming fire,” and he hates it when that is something between us and him.
James 4vs4-5 “You are like unfaithful wives having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God; do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy?” Therefore we can’t live with one foot in the world and the other in the kingdom. We have to make up our minds if we’re going to serve God or be like everybody else.
When you decide to serve God with all your heart, not everybody is going to like you. If God is first in our lives, we have to put him first, talk and think a lot about him. Before speaking to anyone else in the morning, you should first speak to Jesus.We need to form a deep relationship with God, and we have to discipline ourselves first, and then pretty soon it becomes a habit. When we want to spend time with God, we have to make plans for it. We should plan a whole day with Jesus and be committed to him.
Jesus wants to be our Lord, not a part-time lover that we call on when we’re desperate and needy. We need to improve our relationship with God because we can’t do anything without him.
