We bring you today’s message from Pastor Joyce Meyer, which is titled “What’s Been On Your Mind Lately?” The text for the message is from Proverbs 4:23. “Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life.”
Pastor Joyce teaches us that our mind is a battlefield where the enemy wants to overwhelm and control us. Whether it’s worry, anger, or fear, the devil will use our thoughts to try and rob us of the full and peaceful life Jesus sacrificed to give us. It’s important we renew our minds daily through God’s word. Fight the battle in our mind, replacing the negative thoughts with confidence and peace. As Christians, if we would really take a little inventory of what’s been on our minds lately, we could quickly make a connection between what’s going on in our lives and what’s been going on in our minds.
Many of us don’t really know that our thoughts have anything to do with our lives. We can choose our own thoughts, and we need to know how to live the way God wants us to. If we don’t know what to do about our thoughts, Proverbs 4:23 says to guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life.
We have to know that it’s our job to guard our hearts; you have to be careful about your thoughts, and you have to be careful about your attitudes. Thoughts produce attitudes, and we are to guard our thoughts diligently, meaning that we are to guard them all the time, not just once. Every day of your life, no matter how spiritual you become, the devil will try to inject negative thoughts into your mind in some way, shape, or form. We must choose to reject those negative thoughts and focus on what will benefit us. It’s going to be hard the first time, but don’t give up and keep praying that God will help change your mindset.
