Pastor Giglio teaches us how to breathe in the wonder of God and breathe out the weight of depression. Many of us have been in the valley of dry bones, where you felt like everything was brittle, everything was cracking, and everything was dry. We must understand that the goal of anxiety and depression is to take our breath away. We talk about depression and anxiety, and our generation is struggling so much with these. Many people believe they are formless and empty, and that darkness lurks beneath the surface of the deep waters of their lives; however, they will not see change until God breathes life into them.
Being a living being entails being able to transfer God’s sovereign breath. Paul writes in Acts 17:25 that since it is God himself who gives everyone life, we should not be surprised that what the enemy wants to do in our lives is steal away our breath. The breath of God is a beautiful gift he has given us, and it has been put inside every one of us. The Devil wants to take our breath of life away from us, and he does that by putting enough weight on our chest that it smashes us and presses out the very holy breath of almighty God in our lives.
We must recognize the weight of depression that pushes God’s very breath out of us, and God desires to prophesy to the dry bones in our lives to come to life in the midst of that. Many people who suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, or anxiety attacks will tell you that it feels like they can’t breathe and that they have a thousand pounds on their chest. We have to know that we can fight depression, anxiety, and panic attacks with the help of the Holy Spirit, and God wants us to live to our full potential.
